"St Elizabeth’s is an outstanding school that does exceptionally well for all its groups of pupils." OFSTED

St Elizabeth’s School is a specialist term time residential school, with a limited number of day pupils, registered for young people of both genders aged 5-19. We offer a warm, welcoming, safe and secure environment for children from throughout the UK.

The School is a centre of expertise in supporting and educating young people who have moderate or severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD) or some profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) or other neurological conditions which may have been caused or complicated by epilepsy, often with other associated disabilities.  Our multi-disciplinary teams, in partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital, also equip the School to serve a wider range of complex needs such as autistic spectrum conditions (ASC) and associated attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) with language and communication needs or difficult to manage behaviours.

All children have a Statement of Special Education Needs prepared which is prepared by the Local Authority in which the parents live.

We currently have eight classes between two school departments: Lower (Pre 16) and Student Department (Post 16). We offer small class groups and are committed to integrated working across classes and departments, with local schools and colleges.

There are seven residential houses. Each house has its own leisure areas but these are shared to promote appropriate social integration and encourage friendships. The sleeping accommodation is in single bedrooms.

All buildings are single storey and are fully accessible for disabled students. In addition to the Main school, we opened our Living and Learning Building in January 2007, offering students light bright and well resourced classrooms and en-suite bedrooms in the residential houses.
