“All the trainers are excellent. They make you feel very confident before starting work.  Lots of support was given. They are very professional.”  Quote from new employee

At St Elizabeth’s, we have a dedicated on-site Staff Development team to ensure all staff have access to important learning and development opportunities.

Induction

All new employees attend a comprehensive phased induction programme to help them settle into their new roles with the necessary knowledge and confidence.
The induction is designed to support best practice as well as meet the nationally set Common Induction Standards and the expectations of our regulators.

Ongoing training

Staff are expected to undertake five days training each year to update, refresh and continue to develop their knowledge and skills. These are provided through a combination of accredited in-house trainers and clinical staff plus specialist external professionals.

Qualifications

The Staff Development team are accredited to deliver a range of awards, including  the Diploma/Certificate/ Award in Health and Social Care. Staff are encouraged and supported to achieve all qualifications that are identified as essential or desirable for their role.

Further Development

Every member of staff has their own personal development plan. Staff are supported to attend study days and conferences to assist their vocational development and maintain their professional accreditation where relevant. St Elizabeth’s also offers training in Leadership skills and support towards career development.
