Hussein's Story

Hussein has complex epilepsy with uncontrolled seizures. He requires 24 hour vigilant monitoring with a balance of accessing school and leisure to give him a quality of life.

Hussein can experience drop seizures which cause him to have injuries. His environment and staffing ratio are supporting him to enjoy a wide range of activities. He will always require emergency care to which he has access at St Elizabeth's thus avoiding constant visits to hospital.

Hussein and his family are able to access neurology appointments on site with consultants from Great Ormond Street Hospital, working together to improve his epilepsy.

Sam's Story

Sam was 12 when he came to St Elizabeth's School. 

His complex needs, including Autism and Epilepsy, were preventing him from accessing education. Living full time in his family home was becoming increasingly challenging due to his need to control both his environment and his family's routines.

Our health support has led to appropriate diagnosis and treatment of his epilepsy alongside major surgery to his back. 

The consistent waking day curriculum and structured behaviour strategies have enabled Sam to access learning and leisure activities positively and with success.

He has been able to develop his social skill which has significantly impacted upon hi and his family's quality of life and relationships.
