Vocational Training

Vocational learning is a core part of St Elizabeth's College’s provision, with many exciting opportunities for learners to work and volunteer within the community.  The learning takes place on site at the Centre’s social enterprise projects and off site at local employers and community organisations.  Learning is accredited through World of Work units within the Life and Living Skills qualification.   Our Social Enterprises are:

  • The Drawing Room’ an on site studio for the creation, display and sale of ceramics, printing, textiles and paintings.
  • ‘Ash Vale’ an horticultural enterprise which produces plants, organic vegetables and organic eggs from free range hens
  • ‘The Orchard Project’ established to restore and develop St Elizabeth's historic orchard
  • The Jewellery Project’ and retail outlet which is based in Bishop’s Stortford High Street

This year our off-site community work experience and volunteering activities include:

  • Opportunities Without Limits (OWL) at Sawston
  • the National Trust at Hatfield Forest
  • the Red Cross and The Canal Boat Project in Harlow
  • Bishop’s Stortford Football club
  • Countryside Management Service and Hertfordshire County Council, in Bishop’s Stortford and the local area

The College’s vocational provision provides an excellent introduction to the world of work, a wide variety of vocational training, qualifications and opportunities.
