If you are trying to find a placement for a young person with complex epilepsy or other neurological condition please contact the Admissions Officer on 01279 844270 or E Mail – schooladmissions@stelizabeths.org.uk

The Admissions Office receives and manages all enquiries about admissions to the school. Each enquiry is followed up with the offer of an informal visit.  We offer both residential and day placements.

The visit usually takes about two hours beginning with a tour of the school, a student house and the Rainbow Health and Therapy Centre. The tour will be conducted by senior members of the school and Care departments.

Upon receipt of a formal application, the application is reviewed and, if appropriate a placement visit is arranged to the school or the home if the young person is not at school.

The young person may then be invited for an assessment visit. The assessment visit varies in length from 2 to 3 days and includes overnight stays for young people referred for residential placements. Following the visit, a written multi-disciplinary assessment of the prospective student's needs with recommendations is produced detailing the level of staff input, required to support the student's placement.  The decision is communicated in writing to the Referring Agency and the parents.

If placement is agreed, every effort is made to accommodate the student as promptly as possible.

We appreciate how difficult it can be to secure funding for your child to attend our school as we are a non-maintained school and most likely outside of the county in which you live. To help you through the complex system of seeking funding for a placement at St Elizabeth’s School we have put together a guide to support parents.
