Principal's Welcome

Welcome to St Elizabeth's College.  We are an Independent Specialist College for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities, including those with epilepsy and other complex needs.

We offer a three year course which develops learners’ independent living skills; provides extensive work related learning and work experience opportunities; and focuses on relevant literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.  External accreditation is available across the whole of the curriculum.

Our unique model provides learners with a 52 week tenancy with a Housing Association and a 38 week formal College Programme.  Learners live in high standard, purpose built accommodation in which much of the learning takes place.

As part of the wider St Elizabeth's Centre the College benefits from access to the Centre’s outstanding Health and Therapy Service, including specialist nursing provision.  We offer a wide range of Social Enterprise work placements.  We also have extensive community links that provide many opportunities for vocational learning and leisure activities.

Transition planning is a central part of the College Programme and our learners aspire to move onto a range of supported living arrangements and a fulfilling life, which may include work placements, further learning and leisure activities.

The College provides learners with a safe and fulfilling learning and living environment, in which they benefit from being part of a wider, caring community, based on a Christian ethos that values and respects everyone as unique, that is dedicated to helping them to live their life to the full.
