Student Stories - Sam has Epilepsy, Autism and other Complex Needs

School Therapy 8

Sam's Story

Sam was 12 when he came to St Elizabeth's School.

His complex needs, including Autism and Epilepsy, were preventing him from accessing education. Living full time in his family home was becoming increasingly challenging due to his need to control both his environment and his family's routines.

Our health support has led to appropriate diagnosis and treatment of his epilepsy alongside major surgery to his back.

The consistent waking day curriculum and structured behaviour strategies have enabled Sam to access learning and leisure activities positively and with success.

He has been able to develop his social skill which has significantly impacted upon his and his family's quality of life and relationships.
