Every pupil is uniquely valuable and our multi-disciplinary Waking Day Curriculum curriculum ensures that all pupils fulfil their potential:

  • Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) are used to focus learning for individual needs and underpin all learning across the waking day curriculum.
  • Pupils are encouraged to be involved in monitoring and setting own targets.Small class groups enable young people to follow a suitable individual personalised curriculum.
  • The curriculum has been developed in order to meet the needs of its diverse and complex client groups. This has been achieved through the use of a zone system of organisation, allowing the environment and curriculum to be tailored to need. Each zone follows a unique framework for learning, developing knowledge and skills which are relevant and motivating for the individual.
  • Resourceful and innovative planning by the school staff team incorporates creative thinking across the waking day, allowing various opportunities to be widely available to our pupils and students, including offsite visits, horse riding and swimming.
  • A multi-disciplinary approach to learning, working together with therapy and medical teams, ensures the wellbeing and development of our pupils.
