Creative Arts

The Creative Arts of Music, Drama and Art allow all pupils to express themselves in a variety of ways. Pupils are given the opportunity to take part in a range of Creative Arts activities across the year.

These include:

Whole school productions

  • Christmas Pantomime

  • Spring Music Concert

  • Creative Arts Week – leading to a summer Drama and Music production

The Longest Story in the World Ever - This is an annual project run by Andy Graham and “ai, ai” theatre group.

In June 2014, a group of seven pupils from St Elizabeth’s, alongside pupils from mainstream schools based in Bishop's Stortford, took part in a week-long project based on the life of Nelson Mandela. The pupils had the opportunity to take part in drama, music, art and dance workshops related to the theme. This culminated in a public performance at the Rhodes Centre, Bishop's Stortford. The pupils really enjoyed this experience and had the opportunity to be creative, work with pupils and adults from different backgrounds and to perform in front of a large audience.

Drama Workshop Day – The Boy and the Snowman

In December 2014, Andy Graham and SNAP Theatre Company joined us to spend the day experiencing and exploring the story of The Boy and the Snowman. This involved a drama performance and follow-up workshops exploring the story. This resulted in a shared performance at the end of the day in which all pupils were able to be involved.
