Tree planting at Silver Leys
We were delighted to receive an invite from Silver Leys Polo Club in Little Hadham on Monday 18th November by Martin Slade (Associate) and River (Co-Founder) of the Nest CIC.
The polo club is the base for the Nest CIC, a local talking circle charity who has helped over 5000 people. The Nest connects people with nature and themselves in the wonderful 120 acre site with woodland, ponds and animals. They have received 450 trees from the The Woodland Trust and are planting them over the course of this week, and invited us to come and plant a tree with their name on it, and a dedication if they wished.
We were then able to plant our trees, interact with the horses and ponies, and engage in woodland activities in the established Millennium Woods. We also received a woodland certificate that identified tour trees.
We were wrapped up warm and spent a lovely sunny morning at the Polo Club site.
Everyone really enjoyed the activities on offer including tree planting, drawing, woodland walks and discussions, and meeting and petting the horses, as well as the opportunity to relax in this wonderful setting.
Thank you for having us!
