Work Activities - The Orchard Project

Working in our Orchard provides our adults with a range of vocational, educational and social opportunities, in a rich and stimulating environment.

The Enterprise is based within three acres of parkland at St Elizabeth’s Centre and is open to all service users who are able to access the orchard site.

The Orchard’s programme of work offers opportunities to learn horticultural and basic coppice skills through renovating the trees and site. Marketing and retail opportunities are available through harvesting and selling apples, apple juice and organising a popular annual Apple Day event.

The aims of the Orchard Project are to provide individuals with vocational training and supported employment.

The Orchard Project has proved to be a popular choice for service users and is well supported by a network of professional, specialist volunteers. The project works to the same standards as Thrive Quality Champions and the site is registered as organic with the Soil Association.
