Cheryl Allum-Clarke

I joined St Elizabeth’s as a bank care support worker in October 1990. I had planned for it to only ever be a temporary position until I settled on a career direction, however I have now been here for 30 years! I have loved every moment, and have taken every opportunity to train and gain qualifications and experience in assessing and verifying NVQs, coaching and teaching.

I have worked as a carer, Deputy Home Care Manager and Home Care Manager, completing my Registered Managers Award in 2004.

Although I have been here a long time, St Elizabeth’s has offered me varied career opportunities. I held the Admissions Officer post in the Adult Home, and assessed many of our current residents.  In 2014 I became Assistant Director of Care and completed my level 7 postgraduate diploma in Health and Social Care Management.

Most recently, I became the Interim Director of Care and Support overseeing children, young people and adults throughout the organisation. In June 2021, my position of Director of Health & Care was made permanent.

I enjoy spending time with my family and 2 teenage boys who, by the very nature of being teenagers, probably don’t enjoy spending so much time with me!
