Travelling Independently

One of our Adult residents living in our Windhill Supported Living accommodation was keen to travel – on their own – to and from their flat in town to her family home. She worked with our Occupational Therapist over a number of months, walking with them to the railway station, helping them to understand how to purchase a ticket and travelling on the train with them.

After weekly training, she is now able to get herself to the station, get on the train, get off at the correct stop and deal with all money issues. She even managed to successfully deal with the situation when the trains were all delayed, and is very happy that is able to travel to see her family on her own.
