Respite Care
Positive living and learning for people with epilepsy and other complex needs

Respite Care

At St Elizabeth’s, we are committed to providing effective and quality provision to adult clients and their families in need of an appropriate respite service. Our respite service is open all year round, and can accept emergency admissions in addition to reserved bookings.

We believe a respite stay with us is a break for both clients and their families and as a result, there is a huge variety of activities on offer during their time here.

Accommodation:

Nichole House is a modern 5-bed respite suite, with special adaptations in each of the bedrooms to meet client needs. Nichole House has a team of 8 staff members, who are on hand to assist clients at all times during their stay.

The facilities and equipment in Nichole House are suitable for people with physical disabilities and other complex needs, particularly those with epilepsy. Set in safe, spacious grounds, clients in Nichole House have full access to a wide range of on and off site social, leisure and vocational opportunities.

Package:

We aim to make everyone’s stay as comfortable as possible. Every client will be given a chance to tell us personal preference – everything from likes and dislikes to hobbies and interests. We will use this information to make every stay unique, regardless of the length of the break.

Every client will have access to our health team, who will be on hand to assess health and social needs throughout the break. Respite clients do not have access to our therapy services during their stay.

When a client comes to the end of their respite placement, families are provided with an update report, and are asked to complete a feedback form so they can share their experience with us.

Admissions:

All of our respite clients must be 18 and over, and must have epilepsy and/or other complex health needs. All respite referrals will receive a full assessment of needs to ensure they can be appropriately provided for within our service.

We provide emergency respite to clients who have already used our respite services in the past.
