Ged is a professional scientist and worked for GlaxoSmithKline including as Head of Medicinal Chemistry with a particular interest in pain and neurodegenerative diseases. In 2010 Ged co-founded a Biotech company focused on the development of new treatments for neuropathic pain. Ged has a BSc and PhD in chemistry and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry where he sits on professional interest committees. He was a school parent governor for many years and has in the past participated in voluntary work at St Elizabeth’s.
Ged is a practising Catholic and has been appointed to the Governing Body from October 2018.
