St Elizabeth’s Centre

Permanent

St Elizabeth’s has supported people with epilepsy and other complex needs for over 100 years making us leaders in the provision of specialist care and education. Our residents range from as young as 5 through to 80 years old and this role supports the Children’s Home with children as young as 5 up to 19.  We are situated in 68 acres of Hertfordshire parkland between Harlow and Bishop’s Stortford, and offer excellent facilities for 150 adults and children who call St Elizabeth’s their home; making us an inspirational place to do great work and improve lives.

Working in the Children’s Home you will be assigned to one of our bungalows and will be one of three shift leaders expected to take the lead responsibility for each shift. This is a busy role where you’ll be leading the staff team on identified shifts and making sure shifts are planned and led in an organised manner. You’ll have responsibility as a key worker and demonstrate good care principles which you’ll reflect in everyday work practises and encourage in colleagues.

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills who is able to lead, motivate and work as part of a team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience of providing care and support to young people with additional needs in a residential setting. You’ll need to have already achieved or be currently undertaking a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent and be committed to completing this within one year of appointment if not already achieved.

We offer an excellent range of staff benefits including:

  • Opportunity to pursue recognised qualifications
  • Fabulous staff development – fully funded for you by the Centre
  • Free on-site parking
  • Subsidised restaurant
  • High Street retail/leisure discounts
  • Generous holidays
  • Discounted gym membership
  • Free Life assurance

To apply and to find out more information about St Elizabeth’s, please apply online today or visit our website: www.stelizabeths.org.uk or contact vass.georgiou@stelizabeths.org.uk. Offers are subject to pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS check paid for by the centre.
