Japan visits St Elizabeth's!

Last week, we were honoured to host a visit for Mr Yokoyama, an MP for the Japanese Parliament. 🇯🇵
Mr Yokoyama is head of a project team promoting epilepsy measures in New Komeito. He has worked on this issue for a long time as his life's work, as his son lives with epilepsy. During his visit to the UK, he wanted to learn more about specialist education and care provisions including our curriculum, facilities and amazing nursing and therapy teams.
Joining him on his visit was Mr Kyoichiro Kawakami, Economic Minister for the Embassy of Japan in the UK, and Ms Asami Tanaka, Second Secretary for the Embassy of Japan in the UK. We also had the pleasure of hosting Ms Yuko Satoh who was acting as an interpreter.
During his visit, we were also able to show Mr Yokoyama our Ashvale project, which is currently home to two Kaki trees - native trees of Japan. These trees are extra special to us, as they were grown from seeds taken from the last few Kaki trees to survive the bombing in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. 🇯🇵
