Amaka Richard-Tella

Amaka qualified as a Social Worker and Early Years Primary Teacher over 10 years ago. She has spent her career working with Children Looked After and Care Leavers within residential, community and foster care settings.

During her career Amaka has worked both as a Regional Manager overseeing Children’ s Homes and Services in inner London and in the years prior, as a Registered Manager operationally leading both Good and Outstanding Children’ s Services. Markedly, she led a DfE funded Project called ‘Staying Close’ which had national impact and contributed to policies innovating the way residential services work with Children Looked After and Care Leavers. Amaka led our service to win the Best Children’s Home Team in the South at the National Children and Young People Awards in 2023.
